An highlight of the “Festkonzert from Salzburg” is the transmission in the interval of the concert from the room of Mozart’s birth at the very hour of his birth shortly before 8:00 pm (featuring the original rarely played instruments).
Angelika Kirchschlager presents Mozart's birthplace in Salzburg, his original instruments and the 12-year-old piano player Robin Giesbrecht.
During the broadcast the Trio Julia Fischer / Daniel Müller-Schott / Jonathan Gilad performs the second movement from the trio for piano, violin and cello in C-Major, K. 548. The young Robin Giesbrecht plays the Menuet in G major, K.1e on Mozart’s original pianoforte.
The originality of this programme (city and hour of birth, original instruments) completely sets it apart from other media events celebrating Mozart’s Birthday.
